                            Fruit salad recipe

Cooking time: less than 5 minutes

Serves: 3

Ingredients

1 cup = 300 ml

1 tbsp = 15 ml

1 tsp = 5 ml

  • Sugar / चीनी / சர்க்கரை – 5 tbsp
  • Water / पानी / தண்ணீர் – ¼ cup 
  • Lemon juice / नींबू का रस / எலுமிச்சை சாறு – ¾ tsp
  • Vanilla syrup (essence) / वनीला सुगंध / வெண்ணிலா சாரம் – ¼ tsp
  • Rose syrup (essence) / गुलाब सार / ரோஜா சாரம் – ¼ tsp
  • Cardamom powder / इलायची पाउडर / ஏலக்காய் பொடி– 1/8 tsp
  • Salt / नमक / உப்பு – 1/8 tsp
  • Apple / सेब / ஆப்பிள் (medium size) – 1 (chopped)
  • Pomegranate / अनार / மாதுளை (medium size) – ½
  • Banana / केला / வாழை பழம் (medium size) – 1 (chopped)
  • Papaya / पपीता / பப்பாளி (small size) – ¼ (chopped)
  • Mango / आम / மாம்பழம் (medium size) – ½ (chopped)
  • Grapes / अंगूर / திராட்சை (seedless) – 10
  • Cherry / चेरी / செர்ரி – few
  • Vanilla ice cream / वनीला आइसक्रीम / வெண்ணிலா ஐஸ் கிரீம் – 3 scoops (vanilla ice cream)
Method
  1. Add water to the sugar and dissolve the sugar completely in water at low flame.
  2. Stir until it reaches sticky consistency at low flame. Turn off the flame. Sugar syrup is ready.
  3. Cool the sugar syrup for 3 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Then, add lemon juice, cardamom powder, vanilla essence, rose essence and salt to it. Mix it well.
  5. Add apple, pomegranate, banana, papaya, mango and grapes to it and mix it gently.
  6. Store in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  7. Garnish with cherry. Serve with an ice cream scoop. You may like our vanilla ice cream recipe.
