Cheese dosa is an easy, simple and delicious breakfast, snack or brunch recipe prepared with dosa batter, vegetables, butter and spices. It is a popular street food too. Here is the simple recipe of it.

Cooking time: less than 12 minutes

Serves : 6-7 dosa


1 tsp = 5 ml

1 tbsp = 15 ml

  • Dosa batter / डोसा बेटर / தோசை மாவு  – 800 grams (
  • Capsicum / शिमला मिर्च / குடைமிளகாய்(big size) – 1 (finely chopped)
  • Onion / प्याज / வெங்காயம் (medium size) – 2 (finely chopped)
  • Tomatoes / टमाटर / தக்காளி (medium size) – 1 (finely chopped)
  • Tomato sauce / टमाटर सॉस / தக்காளி சாஸ் – 1 tbsp for each dosa
  • Butter / मक्खन / வெண்ணெய் – ¾ tsp for each dosa
  • Red chilli powder / लाल मिर्च पाउडर / சிவப்பு மிளகாய் தூள் – ¼ tsp for each dosa
  • Garam masala powder / गरम मसाला पाउडर / கரம் மசாலா பொடி – ½ tsp for each dosa
  • Chaat masala powder / चाट मसाला पाउडर / சாட்மசாலா – ¼ tsp for each dosa
  • Salt / नमक / உப்பு – required for vegetables (little)
  • Coriander leaves / धनिये के पत्ते / கொத்துமல்லி தழை – (few chopped)
  • Mozzarella Cheese / मोज़ेरेला चीज़ / மொஸெரெல்லா சீஸ் – 300 grams   (grated)
  • cooking oil – 2 tsp for each dosa


  1. Pour a big ladle of batter on a hot tawa to a round shaped dosa.
  2. Use cooking oil around the dosa to cook it. Cook it for 3 minutes at simmer (low flame).
  3. Then, add butter, onions, tomatoes, capsicum, tomato sauce, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala powder, required salt and coriander leaves (at the centre). Mix it well. Cook the mixture for 2 minutes at low flame and spread the mixture all over the dosa.
  4. Then, grate the cheese all over the dosa and cook covered for 3-4 minutes at low flame (simmer) and fold the dosa (don’t flip the dosa). Turn off the flame.
  5. Cut it to the desired shaped and serve hot with Bombay chutney .
