Banana custard recipe is a simple, easy, delicious and lip-smacking dessert/ sweet that can be prepared in very few minutes.
This toothsome dish is prepared in a jiffy with chopped bananas, milk, custard powder, vanilla essence, nuts, sugar and saffron strands.
Ingredients
1 tbsp = 15 ml
1 tsp = 5 ml
- Milk / दूध / பால் – (240-250) ml + 80 ml
- Vanilla custard powder / वेनिला कस्टर्ड पाउडर / வெண்ணிலா கூழ் தூள் – 1 tbsp
- Banana / केले फल / வாழை பழம் (medium size) – 3 (finely chopped)
- Sugar / चीनी / சர்க்கரை – (3 to 4) tsp
- Ghee / घी / நெய் – ½ tsp
- Saffron strands / केसर / குங்குமப்பூ இழைகள் – 8
- Vanilla essence / वैनिला एक्सट्रेक्ट / வெண்ணிலா சாறை – 2 drops
- Cashew nut / काजू / முந்திரிப்பருப்பு – 8
- Almonds / बादाम / பாதம் – 10
- Raisins / किशमिश / உலர்ந்த திராட்சைகள் – few
- Cranberries / क्रैनबेरी / சீமை களாக்காய் – few (Optional)
Method
- Dissolve the vanilla custard powder with milk (80 ml). Custard milk is ready.
- Roast the cashew nuts in the ghee until it turns slightly golden in a pan over medium flame. Then, add the almonds and raisins to it. Mix it well. Turn off the flame. Mixed nuts are ready.
- Boil the milk (240-250 ml) for 5-6 minutes in the kadai at medium flame.
- Add the chopped bananas to it. Stir the mixture for 2 minutes.
- Then, add the prepared custard milk, saffron strands, sugar and vanilla essence to it. Mix it well. Cook the mixture for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the mixed nuts to it and mix it well. Stir for a minute. Turn off the flame.
- Close the kadai with a lid for 3-4 minutes and cool it for few minutes and refrigerate. Serve it chill.
- Garnish with cranberries (optional).
